Grit Story

I grew up in a Hill Tribe village in northern Thailand, the daughter of peasant farmers who worked the land every day just to survive. University was not part of the plan for someone like me — it was not part of the plan for anyone in my community. But I believed that education could change not just my life, but the lives of everyone around me. That belief carried me through every obstacle.

Academic Path

I chose Agricultural Science because I grew up watching my parents and neighbors farm the same way their grandparents had — with no access to modern techniques or knowledge that could dramatically improve their yields. I wanted to understand the science behind the land they had worked their entire lives, and bring that knowledge back to them.

Work History

After graduating I returned to the region I came from — not to one village, but to many. I now work across multiple Hill Tribe communities, educating farmers on improved agricultural techniques, crop management, and sustainable practices. Every day I am applying my degree in the exact place and for the exact people I always intended.

Community Impact

The Hill Tribe communities of northern Thailand have farmed the same land for generations, often without the tools or knowledge to maximize what that land can produce. By bringing modern agricultural science directly into these villages, I am helping families grow more food, earn more income, and build more stability — one community at a time.

Future Aspirations

I want to expand my reach across the region and eventually develop a structured program that brings agricultural education to Hill Tribe communities at scale. My parents spent their lives farming to survive. I want the next generation of Hill Tribe farmers to have the knowledge to do more than survive — to thrive.
